This post is 3 months too late, but I felt it was necessary to share my trip down to the country music capital of the world, Nashville, Tennessee. The purpose of this trip was to play a songwriter night at the famous Douglas Corner Café and I couldn’t have been more excited to play at such a legendary venue. The show went way beyond my expectations. Every one of the songwriters were already established musicians and many of their songs have already been cut by big time recording artists such as Josh Groban, Kenny Chesney, and Life House . I would be lying to you if I told you I wasn’t intimidated sharing a stage with such accomplished songwriters, but I was also extremely inspired at the same time.
The Nashville trip was more than just playing that one show. It was about learning from some incredible songwriters and to be inspired to write better songs every single day to become a better musician. Music is literally everywhere in Nashville. The second you step off the play there is an artist in the airport bar playing an acoustic set. Nashville isn’t all country music either. People are playing all types of music throughout the streets and in the bars. It is no surprise why every songwriter and artist wants to move down to Nashville. The culture is infectious and there is inspiration around every corner. I definitely caught the Nashville bug and I can’t wait for the next opportunity that brings me back down south to such an amazing city.
